Writing

In the Second Grade classroom students learn to write daily during writer's workshop.  During this hour of study, students listen to a mini-lesson that focuses on a specific skill for the day.  This is the skill that is focused on throughout the hour in all aspect's of workshop. After the mini-lesson, students are working with their writing partner(s) to work their way through the writing process: sketch, draft, revise, edit, and publish.  While working in partnerships, I have a chance to work one-on-one,with partnerships, or with small groups to enhance students writing. In second grade, we focus on personal narrative writing, informational writing, poetry, letter writing, and opinion writing.
