Dear Nana,
Do you know what non-fiction books are? In a non- fiction book there are a table contents in the front of the book. Also in the middle and back of the book is a glossary,index, bold worlds, labels,caption, answer key, maps, real photo. This is how much i know about non-fichion.
This week in school also I learned about picking a topic if you were doing a paragraph your topic would be green is the topic of your sentence.The yellow is the details and the last is red because that is the closing sentence and it has to go along with your topic sentence. Your paragraph has to be on a big piece of paper.

Dear Dad,
We are learning about non fiction books. I have a lot of them like fish and weird but true. Do you now a non fiction book? I have a lot in my room. Do you know that? Do you have non fiction books?
we are learning about text features. A example is a glossary,maps and bold words. Do you know any text features. I know a lot of them. there are a lot of them in my books.

I am glad you are learning about and reading non fiction books. You can really learn a lot from reading non fiction. I often read non fiction books on leadership. Do you know what leadership is? So proud of your progress buddy!

Dear mom,
This week we learned about our biography project .Our project is on people who helped us .I have Barack Obama I wanted to do him.We
talked about a lot of people it's going to be fun! You could either make a award or you can make a paper plate person. It was fun to learn about these people.
Also we did mental math. Like if I had a problem like 20 +50=_ I would know that 2+5=7 and I know 0+0=0 so I know 20+50=70. I know 40+5 = 45 I know that because I know that 4+5=9 and add 0+0=0 so I know it's 45.Can we do mental math at home?

Your Barack Obama Report sounds so interesting! I loved helping you work on it this weekend. I was so proud that you wanted to get it done and keep finding more information about him to add to your paragraph. You did such a nice job on the paragraph and creating your ward! Dear Danny,
I have been learning about famous people. The first famous person was Martin Luther king Jr. He was the one that made black and white could go in the same school.
In reading groups we have been learning about non-fiction book's.
A non-fiction book is a book that is real.

We picked a topic. We learned about traditions. our topic is mental math It is just math We take the zero away We add the tens We put the zeros back. Now were done.
text features table of contents glossary index labels captions bold words answer key maps real photos.

Dear Mom,
This week we learned about text features and table of contents at reading groups. we have 2 new books and they are fun to read books at reading groups we learn about metering it is fun to lean about metering.
this week we laernd about labels. It tells you what the pictures are. the table of content it tels you the chapters in the book. in the book it tells you the glossary. the glossary has words in the book.

Dear Dad,
Our class has been learning about non-fiction. I like non-fiction because you learn facts. We are learning about non-fiction in reading groups. Non-fiction has glossaries, indexes, and table of contents.
This week I learned about biographies. I am doing Thomas Edison for my project. You have to write facts about Thomas Edison. You can either do a paper plate puppet or an award. Can we go on the website at home?
