Dear Danny,

Do you now what solids, liquids, and gases are? I do. Matter is solids, liquids, and gases. Did you know solids take up space? Did you now gases take up space. Liquids take up space too.

Dear Dad,
We are learning about oobleck. Scientists don't know if it's a solid or a liquid. Do you know what oobleck is? Oobleck is fun to play with. you need water and cornstarch to make it.
Dr. Seuss wrote a bunch of books. He made reading fun. Do you know about Dr. Seuss? He made Sam I Am. Do you like Dr.Seuss?

Dear Dad, 2/21/14
We have been learning about Oobleck in school. Oobleck is water and cornstarch. Scientists don't know if it's a solid or a liquid. Oobleck looks like milk. It is fun to play with.
We have been learning about Dr. Seuss. He made reading fun.
Dr. Seuss's birthday is coming up. Dr. Seuss wrote 60 books. He made silly words in his books. Dr. Seuss's books are so funny. Can we read Dr.Seuss books at home?

Dear Alex,

I love to play with Oobleck! I called it "Gaak" when we used to make it when I was a kid. It feels so cool between your fingers...nice and slimy. Did you know that you can add food coloring to it to make it any color of the rainbow?
I'm glad to hear that you are learning and talking about Dr. Seuss in school. He was a wonderful author who wrote great books for kids. Since I am away on my work trip, maybe you can read a Dr. Seuss book to me over Skype this weekend. I would really enjoy that! What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?

I miss you very much! Take care of Daddy for me.

Love,
Mom

Dear Pop and Nana,
Do you know what DAST is? Well I can fix that for you! D is for Dialogue. A is for Action and S is for Sound! T is for Thoughts/ Questions. That is what DAST is!
Oobleck is made out of cornstarch and water. You can put color die in it to make it colorful. Oobleck is hard to take of! Oobleck can be wet and dry. In a few days the oobleck can get moldy so don't keep the oobleck for long. I had to throw the oobleck away because when my mom saw it and pop saw it they wanted me to throw it out because it was all over me and my sisters Chelsi hands and it was all over the kitchen.

Loee

Hi Hailey!

Wow! I never knew that Dr. Seuss got in trouble in college for drawing funny pictures on his paper. I bet the pictures were really good because he was so talented. I was also glad to hear you were introduced to a new book. I would love to read that book too. I have never heard of it before! It sounds interesting! That is so neat that you guys made oobleck at school. I can't believe it's just corn starch and water. We can definitely make that at home sometime soon. Have a great week at school and keep up the good work! We are very proud of you! :)
Love,

Mom

DEAR MOM, oobleck is hard and waterish. Scientists can not tell. It can be liquid or a solid. If you put it on your finger it will dry. Dr. Seuss was a famous book writer. He wrote funny books. He wrote easy books. Some of books are yerter the turtle, cat in the hat,
sam i am, bartholomew and the oobleck, the grinch.

Dear Mom, 2/21/14
This week we learned that solids, liquids, and gases are matters. Solids and liquids have weight. Solids have a shape and size. Liquids have no shape. It stays the same shape as the container it's in. All kinds of gases are invisible. We also learned about Oobleck. We can make oobleck at home? All we needed is cornstarch and water. It is a Scientist mystery if oobleck is a solid or liquid. When I put oobleck in my hand it melts into a liquid. When I pick up oobleck from a container it is solid hard. If you keep oobleck for a few days it will turn moldy.

Love,
Lilly C.
