Dear Mom,
We went in a wigwam. It was a real wigwam. They fix it a little .We ate deer and popcorn, cranberries, raisins and we smelled tree branches . They were White Pine and Birch, Sassafras. One smelled like root beer. Another one smelled like fruit loops. Can we go to Indian Rock?

I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Indian Rock. I think it would be fun and exciting to go as a family. We will have to plan on going sometime. How was the deer? Uncle Jud just caught a deer I bet he will let you eat some. Being an Indian was probably fun and hard. I am glad we live in a house with heat and power. Have fun learning.

Dear Mom,
On the field trip my favorite part was the wigwam. I learned that the Indians had to build there house with sicks and tree bark. They made a hole at the top because they made a fire inside. If they didn't have a hole inside it would be very smoky. Can we go to Indian rock?

Dear Lily,

I am glad you had fun on your field trip! You told us so much about it that night. I am glad you learned so much. I think it would be fun to go to Indian Rock together as a family. We should find out if that is possible! The smokey wigwam reminds me of what happens with the wood stove if the fire doesn't quite catch quickly! Have fun this week learning in school!
